Range Rover has unveiled its inaugural fully electric SUV in the UK, with a starting price tag of £154,070. Customers can now place their orders, although deliveries are projected to commence in 2027. This launch signifies a pivotal moment in Jaguar Land Rover’s transition towards electric vehicle production, with the new SUV being assembled at the company’s Solihull facility in the UK.

This luxury SUV is equipped with dual electric motors capable of delivering up to 550PS and 850Nm of torque. It boasts an impressive acceleration capability, reaching 0 to 60mph in just 4.3 seconds. According to the WLTP testing cycle, it offers a driving range of up to 372 miles on a single charge, making it a formidable contender in the electric vehicle market.

The Range Rover Electric features a substantial 118.5kWh battery that supports 800-volt charging technology. Under optimal conditions, this allows the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes, significantly reducing downtime for users and enhancing convenience for long-distance travel.

While embracing an electric powertrain, the Range Rover Electric retains its signature luxury design and off-road prowess. Notably, it includes revised aerodynamic elements and can navigate through water depths of up to 900mm. This vehicle has undergone extensive development and rigorous testing over several years to ensure it meets the brand’s high standards.

The production process will be bolstered by Jaguar Land Rover’s Wolverhampton facility, which is responsible for crafting battery packs and electric drive units for the vehicle. This collaboration within the company’s infrastructure underscores Jaguar Land Rover’s commitment to advancing its electric vehicle capabilities while maintaining the hallmark features that have defined the Range Rover brand.
